These numbers are 2005 per capita carbon dioxide emissions in units of metric tons per person. We got these data from the
International Energy Agency's
database. The values are calculated by dividing a country's total 2005 CO2 emissions by the size of its population. Countries that use a lot of energy for industry,
transportation, residential and commercial purposes tend to have high values.
